iBattMan Hosts Its First Training Webinar on Battery Management Systems & Hybrid Modelling

The iBattMan project held its first Training Webinar on June 3rd, 2026, bringing together students, researchers, and engineers for a deep dive into the technologies shaping the next generation of Battery Management Systems (BMS). The online session ran from 09:30 to 13:00 CET and was open to undergraduate and graduate students across Europe and beyond.

The session focused on four core themes at the heart of modern battery management:

System Requirements: defining what a robust, real-world BMS needs to deliver in terms of performance, safety, and reliability.

BMS Design: the architecture behind iBattMan’s innovative, modular, and scalable battery management system.

Hybrid Modelling: combining physics-based and data-driven approaches to predict battery behaviour with greater accuracy than either method achieves alone.

SoX Estimators: techniques for estimating key battery states such as State-of-Charge (SoC) and State-of-Health (SoH) to improve diagnostics and longevity.

Attendees gained a solid foundation in how BMS technology integrates with different battery chemistries, and how hybrid modelling and SoX estimation work together to deliver more reliable battery performance predictions.
