iBattMan at RTR Conference 2026: Cutting‑Edge Battery Management for Next‑Gen Vehicles

The 9th Road Transport Research (RTR) Conference concluded as one of the most impactful editions yet, placing a spotlight on the latest advances in road transport innovation, particularly in battery and electric vehicle technologies.

The three‑day event (10-12th February) brought together in Brussels nearly 700 in‑person attendees, more than 400 online participants, and 98 EU‑funded research projects across 32 parallel sessions, demonstrating the strength of European innovation in sustainable mobility.

The project iBattMan was showcased in Parallel Session 15 dedicated to “Innovative Battery Management Systems for Next Generation Vehicles.” Hosted by moderators Johan Blondelle (European Commission, DG RTD) and Iosu Cendoya (CIDETEC), iBattMan highlighted the cutting‑edge work being done in battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicle efficiency, safety and lifespan optimisation.

These innovations are paving the path toward more reliable, efficient and resilient battery systems – crucial components for accelerating EV adoption and achieving Europe’s climate and competitiveness goals.
